This trip was included in my jam packed itinerary during my two week vacation leave in Sep 2011.
It was the first time for most of us (me, Matot, Pop) to go to Tagaytay & EK, kaya medyo excited much, hehe. During college, our batch had a field trip (5th year i think), which included a trip to EK but as I was not able to afford the trip, I didn’t go.
(Actually, my Monsters group saved up for another trip – went to Boracay instead for the JPIA NatCon that year, to support our friend Chico, hehe. Yes, the Boracay trip was cheaper as we traveled by ferry. More on than on another post later).
The night before, we went shopping for our baon (food) for the trip, and double checked the list of stuff to bring. We also arranged a family van for the whole day (12 hour hire).
We woke up as early as 5:30am to prep up. Our transport van came before 7am and we went to pick up Julie & Jam before heading out for Tagaytay.
About an hour and a half or so later, we reached Tagaytay Picnic Grove and had our breakfast with the view of Taal Lake. It was still early, but the cloudless, sunny sky burnt by back. Yep, sunburnt ang likod ng lola mo. Ouch.
Joanne then came with Kuya Aesen, we took pictures by the View Deck and then went to the Zipline booth and got tickets for Matot & Kuya Aesen. Me and mami jo? Thanks, but no thanks. = )
I think I’d pass out if the zip stops at the middle due to me being overweight hehehe. = p
We had picnic lunch after Matot and Aesen came back from the otherside of the zipline. Then prepped up for our next destination = Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. However, Jo and Aesen weren’t able to join us due to some schedule set. But it was indeed fun having her and Julie, parang mini reunion ng batch namin sa Jasmis, = )
By the time we left Tagaytay, dark clouds started to appear and looked like it was going to rain. What is this baya? Hot and then Cold. We will get sick, la? I thought the clouds were chasing us as we drove going to EK.
It was still sunny when we reach EK. We got our tickets and took pictures before going for rides. As I’m not really fond of rides (and i think still jetlagged), only Pop, Rica & Matot went for the unlimited rides, while me, mami, Juls and Jam rode the mild rides i.e. carousel, mini train, and went around sightseeing.
Then, the rain clouds chasing us from Tagaytay finally reached Laguna. It rained. Continuously.
Me, mami, Juls and Jam stayed in the shade while waiting for the rain to stop, while Pop, Rica and Matot continued (we brought extra clothes as we know they’l be wet somehow when they go for the RioGrande Rapids, double purpose ngarud, kasi umulan.
By sunset, my battery was also draining (yes, it was indeed jetlag), and while we didn’t have the chance to see the fireworks show (we left prior to closing time), i was happy having seen the park with its night lights. Paalam Eldar! = )
