This post is part of a series on Bahrain’s tourist attractions, notable places of interest, and just about everything I love about the island. Bahrain has been home to me since 2007.
Al Dar, a cluster of small islands off Bahrain’s main land, for me, is one of the best beach spots in Bahrain, and is reachable by just a short boat trip from the Sitra Fisherman’s port. Day entry costs Bhd5 which includes the boat trip. Normal operations are from 9am-5pm daily except for special overnight events.
Several lovely beach chalets are lined up on the northern island and recently, they added open top beach huts great for sunbathing, and during the evenings, for stargazing, = )
There are also various facilities including mini sheds, beach beds, hammocks, a decent snack bar and numerous water sports activities.
Our group signed up for the Nature & I event during 04-05 November 2011, and was packed with activities like Bonfire barbecue dinner, Overnight camp by the beach, Sunrise breakfast, Fishing trip/dolphin sighting, Snorkeling @ Magsoos Wreck and Pearl Oyster Diving.
I’ve included quite a number of photos during our trip so I’d say, let the photos tell the rest of the story, = )
