In less than 12hours, my brother is flying home. And honestly, I am having mixed emotions – happy, sad, anxious, excited, jealous.🙂
Happy for him because I know he had been waiting for this. He had a countdown app in his phone! And smiles at it ear to ear every weekend!
Sad because i’d be left behind, who will now cook delicious food for me during weekends? Hehehe.
Anxious + Excited, as he’ll be seeing our new house (DHP Phase 1) for the first time. I told him to make time to grow a Pakbet garden (tomato, eggplant, okra, ampalaya).
Jealous somehow as we both know that if he doesn’t get a new work visa soon, he’ll be spending more time home. (My longest home leave to date has been only 2 weeks. My Dubai summer stay was actually longer at 3 weeks.)
Heck, he can do Pinas Backpacking if he wants! However, he is a major, major couch potato and actually in one now, with his earphones and watching one of his gazillion downloaded series / movies. Give him Wifi and water and he’ll live.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. There is no Wifi back home. Bwahahaha.🙂
I have three younger brothers and Yano is my second bro. He came to the Kingdom of Bahrain in July 2010 for a two year work contract. And now that the contract period has lapsed, he’s ecstatic to go home.
Processing for a new work visa is like the weather, unpredictable. Sometimes it’s a breeze, sometimes it takes months. So it’s not yet definite when he’d be coming back.
So we talked about options while he’s there, i.e. going for trainings, short courses, planning and coordinating for our DHP Phase 2, ideas for a feasible new business venture, et al.
Anyhow, I can only be the big sister who gives suggestions and advice. He is still the captain of his ship and I have faith in him.
Bon voyage ading ko, good luck on your new adventure home!
Kiss and hug mami and bunso for me (and he will say, Yikes!).
PS. I will see you back here soon, or at home in December. Teach me how to put that countdown thingy in my phone!
