This post is a part of a weekend trip to the UAE in February 2012. We attended a conference-seminar in Dubai and spent the rest of our stay sightseeing. The weather was perfect for the outdoors, bright and sunny with cool breezes (tail end of winter season).
Part of our “Capital Adventure” was a visit to the wonderful island resort, Yas Island.
It was the last stop of our Abu Dhabi day tour and we were looking forward to catch a glimpse of everything about Yas Island.
Yas Island is home to luxury residentials and hotels, Ferrari World, Yas Marina, Yas Links, the upcoming Yas Island Water park, and of course, the Formula 1 Yas Marina Circuit, among other fab attractions.
On the way, we passed by Ferrari World which I failed to take a picture as I was craning my neck to see it better from the bus window. We didn’t stop there as it was not part of our itinerary. Therefore, next time, I shall return! 🙂
Our bus dropped us at the Hotel Yas Viceroy, a five star luxury hotel built within the Yas Marina Circuit.
We were ushered to Origins, one of the hotel’s restaurants with a terrace offering a stunning view of the Yas Marina Circuit while having a welcome drink. 🙂
After spending sometime at the terrace, we went in for a little stroll at the hotel’s ground level premises and saw other restos, lounges, a souvenir shop, et al.
We rested a bit at the hotel lobby while waiting for our bus to take us back to Dubai, where we slept the whole trip. 🙂
It was a nice, relaxed way to cap our hectic 48hour UAE weekend trip.
Then back to Bahrain in a few hours! 🙂
