Yes, September is the title of that catchy song which make you hum and whistle “Padiya, Padiya, Pa pa pa padi, padi, padi, Pa pa pa padi…” And I actually like that song.
A morning wake up song, a feel good, sunny vibe song on the way to work, a good addition to your song medley for weekend house cleaning, take your pick. 🙂
September is the first of the “BER” months (September, October, November, December) and for us Filipinos, it’s also the start of the Christmas season, I don’t know if there are other nationalities who celebrate it like the way we do (enlighten me please).
Six months lah. We set up the Christmas Tree as early as September 1st and don’t put it down until February, hehehe.
Also, September is a major celebration month in our family as it has the birthdays of our dadidoods, mami, my first brother Pop and third & youngest brother Matt. Oha!
We mostly have a single celebration (para tipid hehe) and usually it falls on Matt’s birthday being our baby. 🙂
In Sep 2005, I remember buying a birthday cake from Goldilocks and the counter staff asked me the name of the celebrant to write in the icing. I wanted to put all their names but there wouldn’t be enough space. 🙂
I was joking to my dad, could’ve put “Happy Birthday to ALL” From: Iya hehe
2007 – 2008, missed all their birthdays as I was already working here in BAH.
2009, did go home but still missed their birthdays; stayed only 10 days in August, for my Dad’s funeral =’ (
2010, I was home for 2 weeks! Celebrated their birthdays with a milestone – transferring to a new house and store. Daming effort dyan pramis.
2011, I was home again for 2 weeks! Celebrated their birthdays with excursions to Manila Ocean Park, Mall of Asia (MOA), Tagaytay, Enchanted Kingdom (Laguna), and perennial visits to Manaoag Church and the City of Pines (Baguio City). Not to mention marathon road trips to DAR offices (Malasiqui to Urdaneta, Pangasinan up to San Fernando, La Union) for our LUC application processing. Sinulit talaga.
2012, Obviously, missing their birthdays as I’m currently here in BAH <insert very sad face here> I went home last February not only to celebrate my birthday but also to check actual progress of the Phase 1 – Dream House Project and helped my Mom and brother move in.
Di bale, babawi na lang ako sa Pasko (Christmas). I’m accumulating staff leave days for a three-four week vacation and it’s now down to 85 days until my trip to be Home for the Holidays. Can’t wait!
So there mga frenships, this is how September means to me… and allow me greet you,
HAPPY BER MONTHS!
🙂 🙂 🙂
