Asian mini-trip Series Part 6: SG Walkathon – Gardens by the Bay, MBS, the Flyer, Art Science Museum, Esplanade, and op kors, Merlion Park!

This post is part of a series on our Asian mini-trip last December 2012, during my four-week home leave. After four amazing days in the Island Paradise, Boracay, we jumped on a bus to spend the night at Clark, Angeles City to catch our early morning flight commencing our 8-day trip around Singapore – Kuala Lumpur – Hong Kong and Macau. :)

And so, after finally meeting the iconic Petronas Twin Towers (and getting arrested), we’re back to continue exploring SG. 🙂

We started our Day 3 early with strong coffee and hurried to ride the MRT. From Paya Lebar station, we got off at Bayfront station, walked through the tunnel to the exit and this is what greeted us when we came out.

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands, literally in our faces!  I’ve seen it in photos online but didn’t really expect it to be this massive. Or baka sa sobrang lapit namin kaya nakanganga ako, hehehe.

After moments of staring ang taking photos of MBS, we then headed to the Gardens by the Bay.

We crossed the bridge leading to the Gardens and paused to admire the views along the way.

those “Supertrees”

just lovely

supertrees and real trees, in harmony 🙂

There’s no entrance fee sa outer gardens, where Buboy and I freely roamed, 🙂

After an hour or so, we decided to move on and rode the MRT again. This time we alighted at Esplanade Station.

Medyo nalito lang kami ni Buboy on the way out pero we ultimately found our way around. 🙂

After walking and walking and walking, we finally found the Merlion, tada! SG Mission accomplished! 🙂

sa wakas, found the Merlion! 🙂

We went to the Merlion Park for a closer look at the famous SG icon and photos siempre.

After that, we headed back to the hostel for brunch at the Bistro (yummy! I should post a photo here) then checked out. I love Betel Box Hostel. Will stay here again when we return to Singapore.

Rode the MRT again from Paya Lebar Station to Changi. Checked in and roamed around the massive airport. It’s like a giant mall/entertainment center. Asteeeg! 🙂

Finally, boarding time. Got first row seats, again FOC. One of the perks of prompt check-ins. 🙂

rooomy leg room! 🙂

Travel from Singapore to Hong Kong’s about 4 hours, which means a longer power nap for Buboy. Ayan o, tulog na, agad agad. :p

power nap, as usual

Bye SG, hello HK! 🙂

And so, that wraps up our brief SG-KL leg of the trip.

Next on: Cold, wintery adventure in Hong Kong and Macau! 🙂
